The cathedral was located at the junction of Port au Prince´s major axes; one coming from the sea which is highlighted by the rest of the old cathedral, and the other one coming from the Governmental Palace.

Taking  into account the weather of Haiti and the needs of the cathedral, with the creation of a side square to accommodate large masses.

The main areas were: the church, baptistery and confessional located on the ground floor and the chapel, the house of the priest and service spaces underground.
